Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your snowmobile adventure with Rabbit Ears Adventures.

  • Yes, our complimentary shuttle service will be available on all reservations for REA. When booking be sure to fill out your desired pickup location. If no pickup location is indicated we will confirm that you will be driving yourself to our property on our 10 day prior check-in call. All pickups must be within a 10 mile radius of Steamboat Resort.

  • We suggest warm, moisture wicking underlayers. Long Johns and a moisture wicking long sleeve shirt is our favorite underlayer combo for trail rides. We recommend following that up with a warm mid layer followed by a wind/water resistant outer shell.

  • We are out in the elements for your tour but all snowmobiles come equipped with heated handlebars for driver and passenger. We also recommend heat packs for keeping your toes and fingers warm throughout your tour with us.

  • No, all drivers and passengers must wear DOT approved snowmobile helmets provided by REA.

  • Please consider that our guides make your experience magical and memorable. Your guide will be with you every step of the way to ensure an experience that is unforgettable. If you enjoyed your ride, tipping your guide is highly encouraged.

  • Passengers: it is possible to accommodate younger passengers. Anyone under the age of 5 please ask for more information.

  • Two-up riding is welcome for passengers of any age. For children under ~5 years old, we recommend calling us to discuss the best option — many families prefer our heated, tracked UTVs for younger riders.

  • You should bring gear that will keep you comfortable for a few hours out in the snow! We recommend a pair of sunglasses all our helmets come with a built in visor.

  • Zero, our entire experience is on trail or in meadows where there is no risk of an avalanche.

  • We account for an hour of transportation each way to our property. We expect the trip to take 45 minutes to an hour depending on snow conditions on Rabbit Ears Pass. That means just under two hours of time in our shuttles. We provide water for all guests on our shuttles as well as answering questions and talking to you about Rabbit Ears while we drive over the pass.
